After I worked with Glenn, I sat down and talked with Joey Rolon, the one who made the styling from that photo shoot. I told him about my project and what I wanted to reach, he gave me the best advises, such a wise person who I’m pleased and grateful to meet. Among all the things he told me, I remember he said “No matter where you are, always work like a New Yorker”. It is such a true thing, one of the things I love about NY is that if you don’t work, the city eats you alive, it isn’t an easy place to handle… I guess that’s why they say If you make it there, you’ll make it anywhere.
I started to talk to Jackson de la Peña, a Venezuelan designer who knows many models all over the world and he told me I should meet Andree Baeza, a mexican model. It was perfect for me since I was looking for a guy “HOT FROM MEXICO”. I could not do ALEJANDRO without having a model with Mexican blood in front of my lens. So I meet Andree, he has a ripped body, big Latin sexy lips and a sweet personality.
The day of the photo shoot arrives and we meet at Funky Sexy Couture. I told Joey I wanted to show a lot of Andree’s body and he shows me these shoulders full of hair and spikes, hot boots and that glowing jewelry. Hair and make up was done there as well.
We went to a park located at the beginning of Washington Av. It might seem pretty simple but I wanted those stairs, It gave me the feeling from the beginning of the actual Alejandro video where they dances are marching. That was actually my inspiration, that part, the military feeling, adding SWEAT and HEAT to it as any Latin male would do.
It’s a dark song where Andree played a dangerous MACHO that Gaga doesn’t want around, even tho deep inside she does.

I saw Glenn Douglas Packard for the first time (that I thought) when the TV show Brooke knows best was n VH1. He was Brooke’s roomate and he seemed a really fun guy. I did homework and read more about him… I was wowed, he is a choreographer who have worked with so many artists! including Michael Jackson in the early 2000s. He is also an Emmy Award Nominee, I mean this guy has done a lot and I didn’t know his background. So I wrote to him to see if he was interested in being part of The Men of Gaga. I’ll always remember our first conversation in person n Starbucks (12th & Washington), he told me to never give up n my dreams, even tho I never do, it was really nice to hear that from him. He has the youngest spirit EVER, he is like a FUN TEENAGER full of energy. We became friends with time and before shooting I got to see him doing what he is best at, dancing. That day I realized I chose the right song for him, JUST DANCE.
I told him I didn’t want to do anything like the video and that I just wanted people to watch the photos and feel like DANCING, very energetic like him. I wanted a James Bond look n him with other 2 secret agents whose mission was dance their asses off, he told me he knew the right ones. Indeed, he was right. I met Javier Perez and Victor Borbolla, two young guys, very polite and prepared for what I wanted to do.
The styling was made by Joey Rolon, owner of Funky Sexy Couture store located n 900 Washington av, Miami Beach. This store is… FUNKY AND SEXY! They make such fun outfits and they are great at doing styling. Famous people go to the store and buy unique sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, any item you have in mind, customed for you, they have it or they’ll make it. I also got these work out boots that make people jump high, cause to me that was the vibe of the song. Hair and makeup was done by Ilde Goncalves.
The location was the rooftop of a hot nightclub located n Lincoln & Washington, I wanted it to look very geometric, with baby blue tones.
The Photo shoot began, it was all about “JUST DANCE, IT WILL BE OK” with the Glenn Bond n command of the character he played. It became a dance off with a modeling twist, Glenn had to look enigmatic since it was always the idea.
The main goal for me is when you watch these photos, to feel the energy, the freedom, all through modeling and dancing.
More about Glenn! He just released his first official music video! LOVE DANCE. I’ll post it after this
